The Save command is your LPX insurance policy. Just make this a natural part of your production skillset and it will save you a lot of time and possibly stress if there is a crash or power failure. This should be done instinctively i.e if you create a new recording then hit your key command or if you finish an important edit then hit the shortcut. Although you will have Autosave switched on in Logic, it’s always good practice to hit the Save shortcut after you’ve made any significant progress in your project. The Save shortcut is by far the most important shortcut you should be using throughout your music production process. You simply use the repeat key command and duplicate to your heart’s content. Now you don’t have to do the Option click drag drop process.

Repeat Key CommandĪnother very useful keyboard shortcut I’ll demonstrate is the Repeat key command which allows you to quickly and efficiently duplicate MIDI events such as notes as well as regions by simply pressing and a couple of keys on your computer keyboard. There are also different types of selection options such as or Invert Selection or Select Similar and others which will help you narrow down your choices. It allows you to select regions, notes, or other MIDI controller events so that you can process or edit these selections all in one go. This one you are very likely to use in practically every session you do and Logic. The first key command I’ll cover is the Select All shortcut. By using the techniques shown in the tutorial you get there in a flash and keep your momentum moving forward.
